Dental problems can occur at any time, but whether your emergency happens over the weekend or in the middle of the night, we are here to help you. We want our patients to know that when emergencies arise you should not hesitate to call us right away for help.
Toothache – call us to be seen by a doctor to have the tooth imaged and diagnosed for speedy treatment to alleviate the pain and discomfort
Facial swelling or abscess – abscess is an infection that occurs around the root of the tooth in the small space between the root and the gum. This is a very serious problem and if untreated can spread inside your body causing serious harm and even death. Symptoms may include pain when chewing, fever, foul smell, redness and swelling of the gums. Abscesses should be taken care of immediately.
Lost filling – if symptomatic over the counter temporary filling materials can be used to cover the exposed tooth area temporarily until you can be seen by our dentist for a new filling.
Avulsed crown or bridge – call us to be seen as soon as possible and bring the crown or the bridge with you
Chipped or broken teeth – save the pieces apply cold compress from the outside to reduce swelling and pain call to be seen by your dentist as soon as possible
Knocked-out teeth – Save the tooth, ideally in a container with milk. Highest chances of saving the tooth by replacing it back in its correct position within 1 hour of being knocked out
